Hire Terms

Hastings Rentals places great value on each and every customer. If there are things that we are doing which are not to your satisfaction, or things you believe we should be doing and we are not, please let us know. We can only get better at what we do if you help us to do so.

INFORMATION TO ASSIST OUR CUSTOMERS

1.) When you have finished with your current hire please ring the office and notify us that you have finished with the equipment. This will ensure that there is no overcharging. Please also advise site accessibility for pick-up of the machine.
Stand down guide:
2.) Inclement weather: Please ring us prior to 9.00am if the weather prevents you using your hired equipment, and we will transfer the hire to stand-by rate, which is 50% of your normal daily rate. For continuous wet weather days preventing usage of the hired equipment in excess of three (3) days we will stand the machines down at zero cost to the client.

3.) Industrial Action / Non material supply: Should you have sizzors or boom lifts on hire, and your supplier for steel or other materials fails to deliver on time thus leaving the hired equipment without sufficient work, please ring us prior to 9.00am and we will transfer the hire to stand-by rate, which is 50% of your normal daily rate. The hired equipment will be charged out at the normal daily rate the following day unless you ring us.

4.) R.D.O.s: Please phone us and let us know that an RDO is coming up. We will automatically put the machines on stand-by rate. If you forget to phone us prior to the RDO the hire equipment will stay on the normal daily rate (RDO's do not apply to all of the industry and it's hard for us to know what's what sometimes!).

5.) For those of our customers who have equipment on hire on-site Monday to Friday, if you wish to use the machinery on Saturday/Sunday there will be no additional charge for these days.

6.) Extras: Hastings Rentals is able to supply pipe-handling attachments, which attach to the top rail of the sizzor lift. If you are handling pipe please let us know as these attachments are a worthwhile safety feature, and are supplied free of charge. For shed erectors we now provide fabricated brackets to hold purlins, while constructing the building's roof. It's a good safety measure, saves you time, and time's money. No charge. We have also developed a fitting, which is applicable to a sizzor lift whereby one or more sheets of Gyprock (up to 3.6m long and approx. 1.2m deep) can be carried in a specialised rack with a retaining clamp each end to facilitate easy handling of these sheets. Again, a safety feature, and again, no charge.

7.) Special Attention: Cleaning Costs – The cost of removing paint and/or concrete is very expensive. Cleaning and removal costs are charged at $55/hr. We can supply a product known as 'Protecta', which provides a wax cover over the machine, and allows for easy removal of paint product. Average cost per machine: $60 to $80 per machine – a lot cheaper than $55/hr. Please notify us if you require this.

8.) Decal and Instruction plate replacement: Decals and instruction plates are very expensive. WorkCover insist on control panel instructions being clean, undamaged, and 100% legible. You must ensure that instruction and warning decals remain clean and undamaged.

9.) Don't forget, platform heights in excess of 11m require a WorkCover ticket for the operator. Below this height 'Yellow Card' is required.
